Pad printing vs screen printing: the key differences
How each method works, and how they compare on surface, colour, detail, speed, setup and cost. Written from 25 years of running both, to help you pick the right one for your product.
Screen, round and pad printing on bottles, gifts, electronics and packaging, in Mumbai or on‑site anywhere in India.

Color Craft Prints started in December 1999 as a visiting card printer in Mumbai. Clients kept asking us to print on other things, like ribbons, pens and boxes, so we learned how. We were among the first in Mumbai to offer round printing, and later added pad printing.
Today we print on almost any product, whatever its size, shape, material or surface. You work with the same team from the first sample to the final piece.
Three methods cover almost every product. The right one depends on the surface you want printed.
The quickest and most affordable method. Ink is pushed through a fine mesh stencil onto the flat areas of your product.
Prints your design all the way around bottles, flasks, mugs, sippers, cans and jars, lined up evenly on every piece.
A soft silicone pad lifts the design from an etched plate and presses it onto curved, concave or textured surfaces in fine detail.
We print samples on your actual product before the full run, so you see exactly what you’re getting.
For large orders we bring our setup to your premises, in Mumbai or anywhere in India. No shipping costs, no damage in transit.
We agree the deadline before we start and plan the job around it. Rush bulk orders are something we handle often.
Need only 10, 20 or 50 pieces? We take those jobs too, and tell you upfront how quantity affects the price.
Every job starts with a sample on your own product, so there are no surprises in the final batch.
Share your logo or design. We resize it to fit the print area on your product.
Give us 2 or 3 pieces of your product and we print the real design on them.
Check the samples at our workshop, or approve them from photos we send you.
Once you approve, we print the full quantity and hand over your finished products.
From glass bottles to safety helmets. If it has a surface, there’s a good chance we can print on it.

Prateek GupteWe offer three methods. Screen printing for flat surfaces, round printing for cylindrical products like bottles, mugs and flasks, and pad printing for curved, uneven or very small surfaces.
It depends on the surface where your design will go. Flat areas suit screen printing, round products suit round printing, and curved or tiny areas need pad printing. Send us a photo of the product and we’ll recommend one.
The price mainly depends on quantity. Bulk orders cost less per piece. Small runs of 10, 20 or 50 pieces cost more per piece, because fixed costs like making the screen or plate, ink, chemicals and machine setup are shared across fewer pieces.
Pad printing has a higher setup cost, since it needs an etched metal plate and more expensive ink, so it works out best for larger quantities.
We keep minimums low and regularly print runs of 10 to 50 pieces. Tell us your quantity and we’ll explain how it affects the price.
Yes. For large quantities we print on-site, in Mumbai and anywhere in India. It saves you the cost and risk of transporting products. We just need enough space to set up and work.
Yes, 2 or 3 pieces. We print your actual design on them so you can approve the result, in person at our workshop or from photos, before we start the full order.
Tell us what you want printed. We’ll get in touch to understand the details and suggest the best way to print it.
